She / Her / Hers
Welcome, I'm so happy you're here!
I am so glad that you are reaching out for support and, odds are, you're probably already doing a pretty great job on your own ... even if it doesn't always feel it like it.
I would love to help support you, your child, and your family as you address big feelings and big life events. Whether your child was born carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders or has just been through some rough stuff lately, I'm here to hold space and provide a soft place to land.
In addition to being a therapist, I am also a mom (and dog mom) and I love all things "geeky."
If you're into Pokemon, D&D, anime, sci-fi, art, music, books, and games ... well you have landed in the right place! I believe we can develop a deep understanding and meaningful connection through the interests we love and if it matters to you, it matters to me!
I utilize my knowledge of child and adolescent development and therapeutic skills as a foundation for helping your child or teen move through the very often challenging work of growing up and managing intense thoughts and feelings.
I also support young adults moving into the world of independent living and decision making, as well as adults of all ages moving through transitional phased of life.
I utilize Geek therapy to create a space of trust and relationship so that healing can begin. Although I am not an artist myself, (even though I do believe we are all artists at heart) I often utilize art in therapy because making art is such a powerful tool for healing. I have a relational, person centered approach and I value you and your mental health and wellness journey.
You are brave for seeking help, and you deserve to feel better. I would be honored to work with you, your teens and children, as they navigate growing up during this unprecedented time.
I am particularly passionate about serving LGBTQ+ youth and their families and advocating for equity.
We all belong. Ya’ll means ALL.
I received my training and Masters’ Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. I gained experience working in a Community Action Agency focused on increasing child, family, and community resilience. I have worked locally as an outpatient child and family therapist.
Outside of the office, I enjoy music, singing, tabletop gaming, binge-watching British mystery series, sci-fi, all things geeky. I am a wife, mom to two amazing grown human children and two delightful fur babies. My favorite coping skills include watching funny dog videos, looking at pictures of dogs, talking about dogs, and petting dogs! I am a person who Pinterest-fails a lot of recipes.
