Support Group

Crisis Support Hotlines and Services:

 

988 Lifeline offers 24/7 phone and text crisis support, online resources, and opportunities for community involvement. 

 

The Trevor Project offers 24/7 phone and text crisis support for LGBTQ+ children, adolescents, and adults because you deserve to live in a welcoming, loving world. 

 

RHA’s Mobile Crisis Management provides 24/7 mental health support for children and adults residing in Western North Carolina. You can reach them at 1-888-573-1006.

 

RHA’s Crisis Walk-In Center is open for same-day walk-in appointments Monday through Friday from 8am-8pm. They are located at 356 Biltmore Ave, Asheville NC, 28801 and you do NOT need to make an appointment in advance. 

Resources for LGBTQ+ Folx:

 

Youth Outright offers programming for Queer and Trans youth (ages 11-24) in the Asheville area. YO! encourages youth to realize their power and autonomy through self-determination and helps youth resist oppression by building community, healing, and growing together.

 

The Trevor Project offers online resources and support nationwide for LGBTQ+ children, adolescents, and adults because you deserve to live in a welcoming, loving world. 

 

Tranzmission is an Asheville based organization that provides education, advocacy and support for non binary and transgender people in Western North Carolina

 

Blue Ridge Pride promotes equality, safety, and quality of life for western North Carolina’s LGBTQ and allied communities, working as a united community through advocacy, celebration, education and service.

PFLAG Asheville envisions a world where inclusion is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed. They offer support to parents and family members of LGBTQ+ community members.

The Campaign for Southern Equality is working to build a South where LGBTQ people are equal in every part of life. At this unprecedented time of anti-LGBTQ attacks – and as public support for LGBTQ equality across the South continues to grow – we invite you to join us in Meeting the Moment in the LGBTQ South.

Equality North Carolina is the oldest statewide organization in the country dedicated to securing right sand protections for the LGBTQ+ community. Together, we can build a better NC!

The Youth Pride Association is a national nonprofit working to promote and foster the acceptance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer people in educational institutions.

Local Counseling Resources:

 

Flourish Counseling and Wellness provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults both in-person at our central Asheville office and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. We will respond to your call, email, or text within one business day and we are happy to provide additional referrals for medication management, psychological assessments, and community resources. We are in-network with (Blue Cross) BCBS, Aetna, and some providers are in with Optum / United. Unfortunately we are not in-network with any types of Medicaid or Medicare.

 

Asheville Family Counseling offers counseling support to children, adults and adolescents in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS.

 

Asheville DBT and Trauma offers counseling support to children, adults and adolescents in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They also have group therapy options for both teens and adults. They accept BCBS.

 

Mindful Counseling offers counseling support to adults in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS, Aetna, Ambetter, and Optum / United.

 

Mending Roots Healing Center offers counseling support to children, adults and adolescents in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS, Aetna, United, and Medcost.

 

Winter to Spring Wellness offers counseling support to adults and adolescents (ages 12+) in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS, Optum / United, and Aetna.

 

Your Next Chapter Counseling offers counseling support to children and adolescents in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS, Friday Health Insurance, and Medcost. They also have some clinicians in network with Aetna, United, and Cigna.

 

Daya Mental Health and Wellness offers counseling support to adults and adolescents (ages 12+) in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They also provide Substance Use treatment and medication management for teens. They accept BCBS, United, Aetna, and Cigna.

 

Condor Counseling offers counseling support in both English and Spanish to adults and adolescents (ages 12+) in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They offer a limited number of Medicaid spots and can assist you in accessing “out of network” benefits through other insurers.

 

Reclaiming Beauty provides specialized treatment for disordering eating for adolescents and adults. They do not accept insurance but can assist you in accessing “out of network” benefits.

 

Born to Bend Counseling offers counseling support to adults and adolescents (ages 12+) in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS and Aetna.

 

Healing Together Counseling and Wellness offers counseling support to children, adults and adolescents in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS, BCBS Healthy Blue Medicaid, Aetna, Friday Health Plans, Vaya Medicaid, Wellcare, Optum / United, and TriWest.

 

Matone Counseling and Testing offers counseling support to children, adults and adolescents in Asheville and via telehealth anywhere in North Carolina. They accept BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, Optum / United, Medicare, Medicaid, Ambetter, Tricare, CBHA, Humana, Medcost, and Friday.

Sweeten Creek Mental Health and Wellness Center is Mission Hospital's new mental health facility, housing all of their psychiatric services under one roof. They offer adolescent and adult intensive outpatient care, including multi-day groups and medication management, and accept all major commercial insurance, as well as Medicare andYou can reach them at (828) 213-4696 for more information.
